Learning and data policy
This independent non-credit course is for graduate students, researchers and practitioners. Use the supplied synthetic practice materials; do not submit identifiable participant data or confidential workplace files.
What is stored
Moodle stores account information, course progress, attempts, submitted work, grades and operational access logs. Logs are configured for 365 days; daily system backups rotate after 7 days. Contact jmoon19@ua.edu for access/deletion requests and accessible alternatives. Coursework is not used for research without separate applicable consent and review.
Browser practice and optional services
By default, local practice files are processed in your browser and current work may be stored on that device. Save your .obsnet checkpoint. Optional AI features may send material to a provider you configure when you choose to use them; they are not required for the course. Moodle receives the files or text you deliberately submit. Course videos use disclosed local AI narration, not a human voice impersonation.
Assessment and support
Pass four rubric-reviewed milestones at 70/100. The essential gate is 40 points; without it, the other criteria total at most 60. Revise after criterion-specific feedback for up to 3 attempts. Formative quizzes and conceptual SCORM examples have zero course-grade weight. Viewing is not a competence test, and app coding actions do not automatically sync to Moodle grades.
Access and limits
English captions and descriptive transcripts accompany videos. The browser path avoids installation; R has an explicit non-execution alternative. Detailed app work is best on a laptop/desktop. Human novice timing, physical-device/screen-reader acceptance and grading calibration remain unperformed. Installers are unsigned and Mac builds are not notarized.
Rights
Original course text/synthetic data: CC BY 4.0. Application/manual: GPL-3.0-or-later; source and notices are supplied. Source Serif font: included OFL license. Local Kokoro narration uses the Apache-licensed Kokoro-82M model; no model weights are redistributed in the course.
